Mini golf, anime, a bungee trampoline and holiday popups opening at Bellis Fair
Wander around Bellis Fair mall, and you’ll see a handful of new businesses, plus some movement of existing stores. For a one-day “Mall-o-ween” event, families can take their kids trick-or-treating from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. Participating stores will pass out candy.
With November days away, holiday popups will also open as people begin making their Christmas wishlists. Here’s a roundup of what’s new or changing.
AniMyNation, an anime collectibles store, opened this month, as did Just Cozy, a leggings store, Bellis Fair Assistant Property Manager David Prince said in an email.
Tinto’s Coffee joined the mall’s food court, where the Starbucks kiosk used to be.
After 25 years, Gold N Time, a jeweler, moved to the former Zales space, Prince said.
Mammoth Mini Golf is still working on its course, and is due to open in mid-November. Crazy Jumpers’s giant bungee trampoline has opened again in the spot by the kids playground.
Zorganics Cosmetics, which offers organic skin and hair products, opened Tuesday.
Native Creations is aiming for an opening date this week next to AniMyNation.
PawsWithCause has opened on an occasional basis while it acquires volunteers to be able to open full time. Shoppers can peruse a gallery of paintings of animals up for adoption in PawsWithCause. Proceeds will go to various shelters. The store will occasionally host adoption events, and painting parties and classes for adults, kids and groups, Prince said.
For the holiday season, Metal Man Custom Signs will be back, but in a different space, near Playdate, Prince said. LFS Marine opened Tuesday and is doing a Holiday Outlet Shop between Earthbound Trading and Journeys. Hickory Farms will be in the center court where visitors can take photos with Santa Claus.

Galley2GoToo food locations changing
Galley2GoToo Fish and Chips has moved from the Portal Container Village to Barkley Village at 2075 Barkley Blvd. near the medical offices. They are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Galley2Go and IncrediBowl — two of the company’s four locations — moved to 1225 Roeder Ave., according to a Facebook post, and are open from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
The Galley Fish and Chips location is still open from from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 6069 Hannegan Road. Offerings can include clam chowder, lobster bisque or shrimp corn chowder, and a cod basket in addition to a lobster roll.

Fred Meyer Starbucks has reopened
The Starbucks location inside the Fred Meyer store at 800 Lakeway Drive is open following a remodel. The original reopening date was delayed from Oct. 9.
Starbucks announced in September 2022 it was spending $450 million in 2023 to make its North American stores more efficient and less complex.

Partners join efforts to open retail shop in Sedro-Woolley
A new retail shop in Sedro-Woolley opened Oct. 1 featuring two women-owned businesses.
Partners Jackie Russell and Rochelle Benson opened The Local Shop on Woodworth, housing Russell’s store, The Russell Ranch Mercantile and Benson’s plant shop, Unwilted Serenity.
Russell said she converted a previous business to offer locally handcrafted goods as well as soaps and home decor she creates.
The store also offers pottery by Doug Arnold Pottery, woodwork, homegrown herbal bath tea sachets, and a variety of Dilly’s Pickled Asparagus, Green Beans, Red Onions, Pickles and Pear Butter, she said.
Benson’s shop features a selection of house plants and handmade macrame, and offers tips and classes to keep plants healthy.
The shop is located at 108 Woodworth Street in Sedro-Woolley. The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Friday, Oct. 13
FiXCO moving to downtown storefront
FiXCO will be celebrating 11 years in business and a move to its first storefront on Nov. 11 at an official grand-opening party.
The phone and computer repair shop is currently located at 1200 Dupont St. in the Dupont Professional Building, with an entrance on H Street.
FiXCO will be moving to 1305 Commercial St., which used to house Mo’s Parlor, ideally next weekend, said owner Mitch Kramer.
The shop recently hired five new employees, after Kramer ran the business on his own for more than a decade.
The store is currently open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but Kramer said he is hoping to expand open hours once the move is complete.

Diamond Jim’s Grill under new ownership
Diamond Jim’s Grill, a popular breakfast spot at 2400 Meridian St. No. 1 in the Fountain District, is under new ownership as of Sunday, Oct. 1.
Former owner Jim Green sold the restaurant to Josh Magnes, who also owns Little Cheerful in downtown Bellingham.
Green confirmed in an email he is retiring, and that he believes “Josh will bring new energy and ideas to the diner.” All Diamond Jim’s employees have been rehired by Magnes’ company and hours of operation will stay the same for now, Green said.
Diamond Jim’s hours are from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Monday. The restaurant has been open for 25 years, and serves traditional American breakfast fare.
