Where to get the updated COVID-19 vaccine in Bellingham

Updated COVID-19 vaccines are now available in Whatcom County at pharmacies, some clinics and through Whatcom County Health and Community Services. 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone 5 years or older get one dose. However, most pharmacies in the area are booking appointments at least two weeks out.

Here’s a survey of pharmacies in Bellingham that have COVID-19 vaccines in stock. Pharmacies that are Bridge Access Program recipients provide vaccines at no cost to those who have no insurance or whose medical insurance doesn’t cover the full cost of the vaccine. 

Haggen 

  • 2814 Meridian St. Vaccines in stock: Pfizer-BioNTech, limited quantity of Moderna. The pharmacy is booking appointments just more than a week out, starting Oct. 22. Ages 12-plus. 
  • 1401 12th St. Vaccines in stock: Pfizer-BioNTech. The pharmacy is booking appointments two weeks out, starting Oct. 26. Ages 12-plus. 
  • 2900 Woburn St. Vaccines in stock: Pfizer-BioNTech. The pharmacy is booking appointments for just more than a week out, starting Oct. 20. Ages 12-plus. 

Rite Aid 

  • 3227 Northwest Ave. Vaccines in stock: Moderna. The pharmacy is booking appointments for two weeks out, starting Oct. 27. Ages 12-plus. 
  • 1225 E. Sunset Drive. Vaccines in stock: Moderna. The pharmacy is booking appointments for more than two weeks out, starting Oct. 29. Ages 12-plus.  
  • 220 36th St. Vaccines in stock: Moderna. The pharmacy is booking appointments for a month out, starting Nov. 5. Ages 12-plus. 

Walgreens 

  • 4090 Meridian St. Vaccines in stock: Moderna. Bridge Access Program participant. The pharmacy is booking appointments for less than one week out, starting Oct. 18. Ages 12-plus.  
  • 1070 E. Sunset Drive. Vaccines in stock: Pfizer-BioNTech. Bridge Access Program participant. The pharmacy is booking appointments a week out, starting Oct. 18. Ages 5-plus.
  • 125 S. Samish Way. Vaccines in stock: Pfizer-BioNTech. Bridge Access Program participant. The pharmacy is booking appointments for less than one week out, starting Oct. 18. Ages 5-plus. 

Safeway

  • 1275 E. Sunset Drive. Vaccines in stock: Pfizer-BioNTech. The pharmacy is booking appointments for one week out, starting Oct. 20. Ages 12-plus. 

CVS

  • 30 Bellis Fair Parkway. Vaccines in stock: Moderna. Bridge Access Program participant. The pharmacy is booking appointments for less than one week out, starting Oct. 17. Ages 12-plus.

Costco

  • 4125 Arctic Ave. Vaccines in stock: Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Novavax. The pharmacy is booking appointments for less than one week out, starting Oct. 17. Ages 5-plus.

Fred Meyer

  • 800 Lakeway Drive: Vaccines in stock: Moderna. The pharmacy is taking appointment reservations online now and also accepts walk-ins. Ages 12-plus. 
  • 1225 W. Bakerview Road: Vaccines in stock: Moderna. The pharmacy is taking appointment reservations online now and accepts walk-ins. Ages 12-plus.

PeaceHealth does not offer adult COVID-19 vaccines due to widespread availability at local pharmacies, said Beverly Mayhew of PeaceHealth’s marketing and communications.

Clinics

Underinsured or uninsured adults can get a vaccine at one of the Whatcom Department of Health and Community Services vaccine clinics. Anyone under the age of 19 can access vaccines at these clinics. 

  • Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 3–6 p.m. at 2030 Division St. in Bellingham, first-come, first-served.   
  • Thursday, Nov. 2 from 4–7 p.m. at the East Whatcom Regional Resource Center in Maple Falls. Registration required. 
  • Thursday, Nov. 7 from 3–6 p.m. at 2030 Division St. in Bellingham, first-come, first-served.   
  • Tuesday, Dec. 5 from 3–6 p.m. at 2030 Division St. in Bellingham, first-come, first-served.   
  • Thursday, Dec. 7 from 4–7 p.m. at the East Whatcom Regional Resource Center in Maple Falls. Registration required.
