The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for a man with six felony arrest warrants, two weeks after he was last seen in Rockport.
James Joseph Kelly, 31, is wanted for one count of second-degree robbery, one count of harassment including threats to kill, two counts of eluding a police vehicle, one count of possession of a stolen vehicle, and one count of second-degree possession of stolen property. Kelly resided most of the year in eastern Skagit County, according to the sheriff’s office.
On Sept. 24, law enforcement officials located Kelly after getting a call that he was spotted on Concrete Sauk Valley Road on the Skagit River. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, he jumped in the water and swam across to Rockport.
Undersheriff Chad Clark said they know he made it across the river as he was spotted on security cameras on the other side, but officials have not been able to locate him since.
“Anybody that calls in with a tip, we’re following up on all of those,” Clark said.
All calls since the sighting have been dead ends, he told Cascadia Daily News.
Kelly is 5-foot-9, 150 pounds and has very short dark hair. If Kelly is spotted, people should call 911, officials said.
