Despite the gray clouds and light showers, opening day at the annual award-winning Skagit County Fair, located in Mount Vernon, brought the fun Wednesday, Aug. 9.
The fairgrounds consist of the main and community stage, petting zoo, carnival, “Snack Zone,” and indoor 4-H exhibits.
Starting the day off on the main stage, Eric Buss Magic performed a high-energy show, interwoven with a touch of comedy. Laughter from the audience carried its way to the sea of vendors, selling anything from scented soaps to hand-carved wooden kitchenware.
The 4-H barns hold a wide range of animals, as youth show off the animals they’ve raised.
