District softball: Mount Baker, Lynden earn state berths

Mountaineers win 1A District 1 title, Lions beat Burlington-Edison in consolation final

Mount Baker and Lynden have clinched state tournament berths with the conclusion of the 1A and 2A District 1 tournaments May 17–18. The Mountaineers are headed to the 1A state tournament after winning the two-game 1A District 1 championship over Lynden Christian on Friday, May 17. After a semifinal loss to LC, Mount Baker fought back to beat the Lyncs twice and earned the lone state berth from the tourney.  Lynden, in the 2A District 1 tourney, fell to top-seeded Sedro-Woo
