Kenneth Melvin Donley (Ken) of Bellingham, WA passed away on March 15, 2024 at the age of 76.
Ken was born in Walla Walla WA where he grew up and graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1965, worked at Boise Cascade pulp mill for several years. Ken and Linda married in 1973. Ken had is own roofing and rain gutter business in Walla Walla. in 1990 he moved to Anacortes, then Bellingham and worked at Shell/Tesoro refinery. After 20 years he retired and he and Linda began an adventurous fishing and cruising life on his 3 boats. He also enjoyed golfing and had a unwavering support for the Seahawks and Mariners.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Charles Melvin Donley and Marjorie Lorraine Donley.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Linda of Bellingham, son Joshua Donley of Kennewick and brother Keith Donley of Anacortes.
A diagnosis of early Alzheimer disease in 2015 began Kens’ decline. His family would like to express thanks to Dementia Support Northwest, and to Silverado Memory Care. The kindness and support of both were invaluable. Also Whatcom Hospice, without whom the last months of Kens’ life would have been much more difficult. He maintained his unique wry humor to the end and will be missed in immeasurable ways. Any donations may be made to Dementia Support Northwest or Whatcom Hospice.
A memorial service will be later in Walla Walla WA where he will join his parents and many other family members in the Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens.
