Youth ski, run, bike, kayak in Junior Ski to Sea

Junior Ski to Sea returned with the usual unharnessed hype from the elementary school racers and a casual coolness from the high schoolers. A total of 50 teams competed with 200 racers ages 8 to 18 in the skiing, running, biking and kayaking legs of the annual race on Saturday, May 11. The youth race is run by Whatcom Events, which also organizes the full Ski to Sea, and returned last year after three-year hiatus. The race kicked off at 9 a.m. for the elementa
