PeaceHealth’s Lynden Clinic is scheduled to open its doors to patients on April 15, providing “much needed” increased access for primary and specialty care in northern Whatcom County, said Chuck Prosper, the chief executive for PeaceHealth Northwest.

The 22,500-square-foot space, located at 8844 Benson Road, will offer primary care, including family medicine, pediatrics and same-day services, as well as cardiology, orthopedics behavioral health and OB/GYN/midwifery. The organization’s current OB/GYN clinic in Lynden will be relocated to the new facility.

The not-for-profit will be partnering with Mount Baker Imaging and Quest Diagnostics to provide on-site imaging and lab services, according to Anne Williams, a PeaceHealth spokesperson.

“The clinic primary care team will start small, expanding its pool of providers as demand grows and recruitment allows,” Williams said. “The clinic will eventually employ about 50 caregivers and providers and serve 150 to 200 patients daily.”

Construction on the clinic began in 2021 and it will be the first PeaceHealth facility with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

PeaceHealth locations in Washington currently are:

  • St. Joseph Medical Center — Bellingham
  • Peace Island Medical Center — Friday Harbor
  • St. John Medical Center — Longview
  • United General Medical Center — Sedro-Woolley
  • Southwest Medical Center — Vancouver

“Design elements such as solar panels, EV charging, native plants and a bioswale stormwater runoff system demonstrate PeaceHealth’s commitment to sustainability,” Williams said.

A community open house with tours and refreshments is scheduled from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on May 16.
