The bridge on Electric Avenue at Whatcom Creek closed to vehicle traffic Monday evening, June 3, due to structural failures identified during a recent inspection, Bellingham city officials announced. A posting on the city's website said a routine inspection "revealed more concerning issues than initially anticipated, necessitating the immediate closure."
