Gaming bar Endgame to close at the end of February

Endgame, a gaming bar in downtown Bellingham, will be closing on Feb. 24.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Jan. 4, owners Austin Sines and Michael Lamere announced they would be closing the bar due to financial pressures. Endgame is located at 118 W. Holly St.

“Unfortunately, with the mixture of increasing cost of goods, unstable rental prices and hitting the constraints of what we could do with our limited kitchen space, we’ve decided to close down,” the owners wrote on Instagram.

The post said they were “optimistic about coming back at some point,” but would be closing for now. The bar opened downtown four years ago.

Western Solar moves to larger warehouse, plans to expand offerings

Regional company Western Solar moved from its Meridian neighborhood location to a warehouse at 4326 Pacific Hwy. in Bellingham.

The new space will bring a “profound shift,” and will allow for higher service standards, quicker turnaround times and streamlined operations, according to a news release.

The 22-year-old business specializes in the installation of solar panels and battery backup solutions. Western Solar serves Whatcom, Island, Skagit, Snohomish and San Juan counties.

Western Solar Director of Sales and Business Development Brandon Provalenko said while he wasn’t ready to announce specifics about the expanded offerings, they will include “energy efficiency products and energy storage products.”

Western Solar purchased the warehouse, which was formerly a grow operation, and renovated the building to include office and warehouse space, Provalenko said in an email. The business began moving in December and is “settling in” to the new space while construction finishes up, he said.

Western Solar was founded in Bellingham in 2002.
