Two detained in Bellingham drive-by shooting

No injuries reported

Two suspects have been detained following a drive-by shooting off Bakerview Road Saturday afternoon, Feb. 24, according to Bellingham police.

Bellingham Police Public Information Officer Megan Peters said there were no injuries.

Shots were reported at 2:55 p.m. Saturday near the corner of Bakerview Road and Hannegan Road. Bullets struck the TKK construction company building and cartridges were found in the area, Peters said. One individual was in the building but was uninjured.

Footage of the shooting was provided to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, which identified the vehicle at Meridian Street and Telegraph Road just before 4 p.m. Saturday. The sheriff’s office initiated a traffic stop and detained the two individuals in the vehicle, Peters said.

The investigation is ongoing.
