Bellingham fire investigating reports of ‘sulfur-like smell’ in southside, downtown

No source of smell or device readings picked up yet

The Bellingham Fire Department is investigating reports of a “sulfur-like smell” wafting through southside Bellingham into downtown, according to a Facebook post by the department.

Bellingham fire, in the post, said it has not yet found a source or picked up any device readings after a thorough investigation, which is being aided by Cascade Natural Gas.

The department is asking anyone smelling a general odor in the area to not call 911. For anyone who is smelling natural gas inside their home, or has hit a gas line in their yard, call 911 and Cascade Natural Gas.
