Wildflower Funeral Concepts will open on April 15 in Ferndale to provide “ecologically sound death care options.”
The full-service funeral home will offer terramation, aquamation, cremation and green burial. It will also offer support with rituals, including funerals, washings, dressings, wakes and more. The funeral home aims to set the “highest standards for care, integrity and transparency,” according to a March 26 newsletter.
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, the funeral home will host an open house at 5706 4th Ave. in Ferndale, and open for service the next day.
“We have made a place that I really believe can heal our relationships with death, grief, and nature,” founder Brian Flowers wrote in the newsletter.
Flowers said on April 3 that he is “thrilled to be able to offer these services to the community in the way I feel they need to be offered.”
The open house will include music from violinist Swil Kanim, and allow people an opportunity to meet the staff and see the facility.
