Suspect in Monday's incident described as a 6-foot tall Black man in his 30s

The Bellingham Police Department is asking for information related to a Monday, April 1 armed bank robbery inside of Haggen in Fairhaven.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress around 6 p.m. at Peoples Bank inside of Haggen on 12th Street, according to a Bellingham Police Department Facebook post. The suspect left prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

Police are looking for a Black man in his 30s, who’s described as 6-feet tall and of average build, according to the release. The suspect was wearing a dark-colored medical mask covering his face, and dark clothing including a dark jacket with patches on the upper arms.

Police would not disclose how much money was taken during the robbery.

The investigation remains ongoing. If anyone has information on the incident, they are encouraged to call the BPD non-emergency line at 360-676-6911.
