JESSE’S PICKS

Mike Faast Quartet
6 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, Anacortes Rockfish Grill, 320 Commercial Ave., Anacortes

Mike Faast is a superb guitar player and singer who mixes the sounds of classic jazz, swing and country into a lovely blend all his own. Think of the jazzy side of Willie Nelson and you’re in the ballpark. We caught a show of his at Skylarks a few months ago with an intergenerational family group and everybody had a great time. He’ll be at the Rockfish Grill with a quartet on Wednesday, April 10.

Bilongo
6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, Zeeks Pizza, 2416 Meridian St.

Bilongo is a Latin jazz ensemble featuring a bunch of the best jazz players in town. Zeeks Pizza has enough floor space that you just might see some dancers out there when they play on Thursday, April 11.

Miles Ebony & the Deep Cuts, CHRVNS
9 p.m. Friday, April 12, The Blue Room, 202 E. Holly St., Suite 301

Miles and Ebony Harris and their band The Deep Cuts are hard at work on a new album to showcase their fiery blues/rock/soul blend. They’ll be releasing the first few songs to coincide with their show on Friday, April 12 at The Blue Room. The show also features hip-hop from CHRVNS to get things started.

CYTRUS
9 p.m. Saturday, April 13, Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St.

Seattle’s synth-heavy funkateers CYTRUS are back at the Wild Buffalo on Saturday, April 13. Compared to other groups of that ilk, they tend more toward intricate, surprise-packed compositions instead of just jamming out. McTuff opens the show with a set of funky organ-powered jazz.
