Western Washington University women’s soccer outlasted Western Oregon University 1-0 in a crucial league matchup Thursday, Oct. 26 at Harrington Field.

Vikings sophomore forward Morgan Manalili, who entered the game with a team-high four goals on the season, added another in the match’s 27th minute, which wound up being the only score of the contest.

Western Oregon had five shots on goal to Western’s two, but senior goalkeeper Claire Henninger saved all five for Vikings.

Western (9-3-4, 7-1-3 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) strengthened its hold on second place in the conference, while Western Oregon (7-4-4, 4-4-3 GNAC) is now tied for third with Simon Fraser.

The Vikings are now 6-0-1 in their last seven games heading into another home match versus Saint Martin’s (3-6-6, 1-5-5 GNAC) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.
