Council during this special meeting will consider a vote to certify the property tax amounts to be levied by cities and school, fire and cemetery districts in the county.

Council will consider a proposal from member Kristina Michele Martens to create new rules for landlords, including a ban on renting units that do not meet a state habitability standard.

Council will decide whether to ask voters in November 2024 if elected officials holding a county office should be barred from holding any other public office at any level of government.

Northwest Neighborhood Park. Deadline: Dec. 8, 2023

The Bellingham Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the city council will consider the ideas submitted and make the final decision on the park’s name. Survey online.

The Bellingham Plan. Deadline: 2023

Bellingham is updating its Comprehensive Plan, the document it uses to guide growth toward a 20-year vision for the future. This update is due in 2025 and will guide development, capital investments, city programs and other actions across the city as it works toward its vision for 2045. Survey online.

Proposed expansion of Bellingham’s transit station. Deadline: 2023

Whatcom Transportation Authority is accepting written comment through its Engage WTA website on a proposal to expand Bellingham Station, to allow room for more buses and additional public uses. Survey online.
