Multiple-vehicle collision blocks Guide Meridian in both directions

Wreck involves serious injuries, extended road closure

Lanes in both directions of Guide Meridian Road, between Bellingham and Laurel, are blocked due to a collision that happened around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21.

The collision is north of Kelly Road, according to a tweet from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

First responders were on the scene as of 8:10 p.m. The accident involves serious injuries and multiple vehicles, according to a tweet from Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding.

“Please be patient as troopers on-scene conduct a thorough investigation,” Harding said in the tweet. “This will be an extended closure so please use alternate routes.”

WSDOT said there is no timetable for a reopening of the road.
