Afternoon power outage hits York neighborhood

Monday interruption investigated by PSE

A power interruption of unknown origin caused lights to flicker in downtown Bellingham and left the York neighborhood without electricity Monday afternoon.

The outage, reported to Puget Sound Energy at 3:53 p.m., is affecting 1,565 York households, according to PSE’s outage map. The utility’s website listed an estimated restoration time of 6 p.m.

The outage was listed as “under investigation.” PSE officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
