Border Patrol seizes $1.7M worth of meth in Blaine

450 pounds of the Schedule II substance recovered

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents seized 450 pounds of crystal methamphetamine from a vehicle in a residential area of Blaine last Friday, a Wednesday release stated.

The vehicle was abandoned and contained duffel bags full of the drug, amounting to an estimated street value of more than $1.7 million, agents said. Border Patrol agents discovered the vehicle near the border around 10 p.m. on Sept. 9.

“This seizure is an excellent example of their commitment to this honorable mission by taking nearly 450 pounds of methamphetamine off the streets,” Blaine Sector Chief Patrol Agent David S. BeMiller said in the release.
