The county reported approximately 175 cases per 100,000 for the week of April 19 to 25, according to the county COVID-19 dashboard.
The CDC defines counties as medium:
- If there are fewer than 200 cases per 100,000 and between 10 and 20 hospital admissions.
- If there are more than 200 cases per 100,000 people and less than 10 hospital admissions due to COVID-19.
The Whatcom County Health Department strongly encourages people to continue wearing masks. A higher-quality mask, like an N95 or KN95, is most effective.
The county recommends that people stock up on at-home COVID-19 tests, stay home if sick and get vaccinated.
