Pedestrian dies after being stuck by semi in Everson

A detour is in place while State Patrol investigates

A pedestrian died after being struck Tuesday morning by a semi-truck on State Route 9 (Lawrence Road), just north of George Road in Everson, Washington State Patrol reported.

Troopers had earlier responded to a pedestrian in the roadway in the same area. Shortly after responding to that, the pedestrian was struck by the semi.

“Sadly this has turned into a fatality collision,” Trooper Jacob Kennett said in a Tweet. “The roadway will be blocked for the duration of the investigation.”

WSP has set up a detour at SR9 and Siper Road.
