Donning the full cap and gown get-up, Ferndale High School seniors walked the halls of their old elementary and middle schools one last time before Friday’s formal graduation ceremony.

Teachers, old and new, and younger students lined the halls, cheering and offering high-fives and hugs, as the graduates took a walk down memory lane.

At Central Elementary School, around two dozen student dropped by to play with the rainbow parachute in the gym and hit the gong in the music room one last time.

The caps and gowns will get another run later in the day at Ferndale’s 6 p.m. Friday graduation ceremony at Civic Stadium in Bellingham.
