Elizabeth Park Concert Series 
6–8 p.m., Elizabeth Park, 1000 Walnut St. 
This free, family-friendly summer concert series in the heart of Bellingham’s Columbia neighborhood continues with Out of the Ashes. Info: facebook.com/elizabethparksummerconcerts.

Shakespeare NW
7 p.m., Rexville Blackrock Amphitheater, Mount Vernon 
Shakespeare Northwest continues its summer season with “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” “Henry V” and “Bardic Mouse Tales” showing weekends through Aug. 13. Tickets to individual shows are $15–$18; family passes are available. Info: shakesnw.org.

Pump Boys and Dinettes
7:30 p.m., Fishermen’s Pavilion, 2599 S. Harbor Loop Drive
This musical collaboration between Bellingham TheatreWorks and Western Washington University’s Theatre and Dance department shows for the final week at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The country-western musical is set in a dockside diner. Tickets are $15–$22 and include a piece of pie at intermission. Info: bellinghamtheatreworks.org.

Good, Bad, Ugly
8 p.m., Sylvia Center, 207 Prospect St. 
The Upfront Theatre presents Bellingham’s longest-running improv show, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” every Thursday at the Sylvia Center for the Arts. Tickets are $10–$15. “Bottled Lightning” shows at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Info: theupfront.com.

Porch Sale
11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Quilt & Fiber Museum, La Conner 
Attend this annual sale during open hours Friday through Sunday on the porch of Gaches Mansion. Along with bargains on fabric, fibers and fun finds, vendors will also sell their wares in the Garden Club on Friday and Saturday. Info: qfamuseum.org.

Stand in the Corner 
8 p.m., Corner Pub, 14565 Allen West Rd., Bow 
Cecilee Romano hosts this “timeout for adults” standup comedy show and will be joined by Kris P, Kate Carlsen-Carlsen and Mary Lou Gamba. Entry is free. Info: bellinghamentertainment.com.

Saturday, July 30

Bellingham Farmers Market 
10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Depot Market Square, 1100 Railroad Ave. 
The 30th annual event takes place every Saturday through Dec. 17. With more than 80 vendors participating each week, it provides a vital connection to the agricultural and artistic facets of our community. Info: bellinghamfarmers.org.

“The Jungle Book”
10 a.m and 12 p.m., Lincoln Theatre, Mount Vernon
See the product of Skagit Theatre Camp’s two-week-long curriculum focusing on this kid-friendly Disney favorite. During the camp, students learn more about acting, singing, dancing, costume, sets, props, lighting and sound. Tickets are $5–$10 (free for youth ages 5 and under). Info: lincolntheatre.org.

Samish Island Arts Festival
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Community Center, 11292 Blue Heron Rd.
As many as 40 original art vendors will show and sell their wares at this annual event. Admission is free to check out the woodworks, art glass, Raku and pottery, fine jewelry, home textiles, card photography, handmade soaps and more. The Stella Sopra Italian food truck will be there, and Terramar Brewstillery will host a beer garden. PKDwyer and Flattery will provide live music. Info: samishisland.net.


Kevin Murphy
5:30 p.m., FireHouse Arts and Events Center, 1314 Harris Ave. 
Local poet Kevin Murphy will share mostly new and recent work on the Garden Stage in the courtyard of the FireHouse. Murphy is the author of “A Beautiful Chaos Demands Energy” and is the poet-in-residence of the Chuckanut Radio Hour. Entry is free; donations are appreciated. Info: firehouseperformingarts.com.

Culture Comedy
7:30 p.m., Culture Cafe, 210 E. Chestnut St.
Comedy Nite and Culture Cafe team up to present headliner Jamal Damal and Cheri Hardman, who won Tacoma Comedy Club’s “The Comedy Voice” and was a finalist in Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Club. Randall Ragsdale will host. Tickets are $15. Info: facebook.com/ComedyNite.

Comedy Night

“Dirty Dancing”
7:45 p.m., Fairhaven Village Green, 1207 10th St.
Free Harmony will make music before the screening of this iconic romantic drama starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey begins at dark. Monday, Aug. 1

Comedy Saloon
9 p.m., Horseshoe Cafe, 113 E. Holly St.
Head to one of the oldest cafe and cocktail lounges in Washington state when this standup roundup hits the Ranch Room stage. The free show includes happy hour prices, featured comedians — which this week are Damon Lawton, Kris Cox and Tony Meyer — and a fast-paced open mic round. Wednesday, Aug. 3

Vintage Farming Days
Today through Aug. 6, Berthusen Park, Lynden
Attend one of the largest steam and gas engine shows in Washington state at this 50th annual event featuring threshing, steam and gas sawmill demos, gas engines, tractor pulling, antique trucks and machinery, blacksmiths, a daily parade, special theme displays, activities for kids and more. Tickets are $3–$10. Info: vintagefarmingdays.net.

The Mavericks
7 p.m., Mount Baker Theatre, 104 N. Commercial St. 
Hear the genre-bending eclecticism of this Miami-born, Nashville-based band when the Grammy award-winners head to Bellingham to present distinctive takes on country music, Latin music classics, as well as new originals set alongside many of their greatest hits and frontman Raul Malo’s penchant for unexpected, reverential covers. Tickets are $22–$70. Info: mountbakertheatre.com.
