A 16-year-old Sedro-Woolley resident was killed Friday night in a two-car collision at Best Road and Young Road near Highway 20 in the Skagit Valley.

Police said the accident, which left three others seriously injured, occurred when a vehicle headed east on Young Road ran a stop sign, colliding with a southbound vehicle on Best Road.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, Kerriah Marlenapaul, 16, of Sedro-Woolley, was reported dead at the scene.

Three other passengers in the vehicle, Alani Gutierrez, Shelby Hernandez and Clara Seward were injured.

Gutierrez, 9, of Sedro-Woolley, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center; Hernandez, 15, of Sedro-Woolley, was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital; and Clara Seward, 28, of La Conner was airlifted to Providence Hospital.

Brent Barker, 65, of Mount Vernon, the driver of the southbound vehicle, was uninjured, police said. There were no other passengers inside his vehicle.

Marlenapaul drove a 2007 Toyota Corolla and Barker, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. Both vehicles were totaled in the incident.

It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were involved.
