Bellingham man arrested on two counts of possession of child pornography

30-year-old currently being held in Interim Work Center

A Bellingham man was arrested on Dec. 9 on suspicion of possession of child pornography after his girlfriend found it on his phone and called 911, according to court documents.

Anthony J. Slama, 30, was charged with two counts of first-degree possession of child pornography and is currently being held in Whatcom County’s Interim Work Center on Division Street.

Slama allegedly used an app that showed pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual acts. He also allegedly traded videos of pre-pubescent children with another app user through the app’s chat function. Slama’s iPhone and iPad were logged as evidence, according to documents.

Police allegedly found more than two videos of child pornography, but a final count of the charges won’t be applied until the investigation is further along, documents state.

Slama’s arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 30.
