Attempted suicide victim dies later in hospital

Police working with Sportsman's Warehouse, next of kin

The individual who attempted suicide at Sportsman’s Warehouse has died from their injuries at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, Bellingham Police Department Investigations Lt. Chad Cristelli confirmed in an email Tuesday. 

Cristelli did not verify the exact time or date of the individual’s death. Police responded to a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Sportsman’s Warehouse on Meridian Street shortly after 7 p.m. Aug. 5.

No other injuries occurred in the store, Cascadia Daily News previously reported. To protect the privacy of the victim and their family, police have not released any additional details regarding the incident.
