Council will discuss workplan ideas for 2024, including the children’s fund implementation plan, the food systems assessment and the jail & behavioral health services ballot measure.

League of Women Voters of Bellingham-Whatcom County forum, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 311 Grand Ave., Bellingham 
Candidates for Whatcom County Council District 4, District 5 and at-large will participate.

Bellingham City Club forum, noon Wednesday, Oct. 4, Zoom only

The Bellingham Plan. Deadline: 2023

Bellingham is updating its Comprehensive Plan, the document it uses to guide growth toward a 20-year vision for the future. This update is due in 2025 and will guide development, capital investments, city programs and other actions across the city as it works toward its vision for 2045. Survey online.

Proposed expansion of Bellingham's transit station. Deadline: 2023

Whatcom Transportation Authority is accepting written comment through its Engage WTA website on a proposal to expand Bellingham Station, to allow room for more buses and additional public uses. Survey online.
