In their first home appearance since winning the 2022 Division II national championship, Western Washington University women’s soccer team outlasted No. 22 Cal State Los Angeles 1-0 Saturday afternoon, Sept. 9 at Harrington Field.

Mie Cairns scored her first collegiate goal in the 40th minute to power the Vikings to victory.

The top-ranked Vikings improve to 2-1 on the season, and travel to Golden, Colorado, to face No. 7 Colorado School of Mines at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14.
