4 injured in Tuesday school bus collision in Lynden

Four people were injured, including two students, when a school bus and a car collided Tuesday morning, May 2, at the 500 block of West Pole Road in Lynden, police confirmed.

Police responded around 7:15 a.m. to the accident, and as of 11:30 a.m., the road was still closed, Deb Slater of the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said in an email. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and no other information will be released at this time, Slater said. 

The bus driver and two students sustained minor injuries, and the driver of the second vehicle was transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center with “serious injuries.”
