Power outage hits Lynden, Everson Wednesday night

1,300 customers affected starting around 8 p.m.

Over 1,300 customers are without power from east Lynden to Everson and parts of Nooksack as of 9:30 p.m. Wednesday following an outage that hit around 8 p.m., according to Puget Sound Energy.

Puget Sound Energy’s power outage map shows 1,382 customers affected, and lists the cause as “under investigation.” The website estimates power will be restored around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

A previous version of this story misstated Whatcom County Public Utility District No. 1’s (PUD) involvement. PSE customers were affected by the outage. The story was updated to reflect this change at 10:18 a.m. March 16. Cascadia Daily News regrets this error.
