During the Bellingham City Council Committee of the Whole meeting, council members will once again discuss a resolution declaring affordable housing and homelessness a public health crisis. 

Whatcom County Council Climate Action and Natural Resources Committee, 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 311 Grand Ave., Bellingham 
Whatcom County Council members will discuss next steps on forestry issues after communications with the state Department of Natural Resources and its director Hilary Franz. The timber discussion between the state and the county began over concerns related to DNR timber sales in the region, including the Brokedown Palace and Box of Rain sales.

A council committee will decide at 1:15 p.m. whether to recommend a new food system plan for the full council's approval at 6 p.m. Council tabled the food plan in April after receiving a letter of concern from local farmers groups.

Whatcom County Council public hearing, 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 311 Grand Ave., Bellingham 

Council will take public input on proposed regulation of short-term vacation rentals in unincorporated parts of the county (outside city limits).

Bellingham is updating its Comprehensive Plan, the document it uses to guide growth toward a 20-year vision for the future. This update is due in 2025 and will guide development, capital investments, city programs and other actions across the city as it works toward its vision for 2045. Survey online.
