During halftime of a men's basketball game on Thursday, Western Washington University celebrated its women's soccer team's national championship victory.

Each soccer player and coach was recognized as the team's trophies were shown off to spectators before the awards are displayed in their permanent display case.

Western defeated West Chester University 2-1 on Dec. 3, 2022, to bring home the team's second national title.

Six years before that moment, on Dec. 3, 2016, Western took home its first title.

The 2022 Vikings had four players named First-Team All-GNAC, two named First-Team All-West Region, and four players selected to the All-Tournament team — reserved for the best 11 postseason performers.
