WCC says Orcas do not have enough players on roster to compete

By Nick Zeller-Singh Sports Reporter

Whatcom Community College women’s basketball team has now forfeited four consecutive games after forfeiting its most recent matchup, an away game against Peninsula Community College, Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Media liaison and public information officer Marni Saling Mayer said the team does not have enough players on the active roster to compete. After Wednesday’s forfeit, the Orcas are now 5-21 overall this season under first-year coach Bobbi Westendorf.

CDN has reached out to Westendorf and athletic director Rob Pedicone for comment. The men’s basketball team continues to play games this season.
