Commissioners will hear a presentation on updates to staffing at the Bellingham International Airport traffic control tower.

Whatcom County Forestry Advisory Committee
4 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 5280 Northwest Drive, or online

School board members will vote to direct the superintendent to develop a reduced educational program plan to address the district’s ongoing budget challenges.

Whatcom County Council
1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 311 Grand Ave., or online

Council members will discuss the 2025 workplan and timeline for the new Whatcom County Jail and Behavioral Care Center.

James and Bakerview Corridor Improvements Open House
6 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 1530 E. Bakerview Road

City of Bellingham staff will host an open house meeting at the Bellingham Covenant Church to discuss a new roundabout coming to James Street and Bakerview Road, as well as safety improvements on James Street.

City of Bellingham 2026 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan Community survey. Deadline: March 2

The city is updating its PROS Plan, the six-year guide for improving parks, open space, trails and recreation, and is seeking feedback from residents. Survey online.

Whatcom County Homeless Housing Plan survey. Deadline: Ongoing

Provide feedback to the county on how homeless resources should be used, and what strategies should be prioritized to address homelessness. Survey online.

Bellingham Plan feedback. Deadline: Ongoing

The City of Bellingham will publish updated draft summaries of each chapter of the city’s comprehensive plan as they are reviewed by the Planning Commission. Members of the public can provide comments on each chapter as they become available. Survey online.

Bellingham proposed rental fee ordinances. Deadline: ongoing

Bellingham City Council is accepting feedback on proposed ordinances that would limit fees for rental properties and manufactured/mobile homes. Survey online.

Bellingham Urban Forest Plan feedback. Deadline: Ongoing

You can still provide feedback on Bellingham’s first-ever Urban Forest Plan, which will guide how the community protects and enhances the trees and forests that makeup Bellingham’s urban forest. An urban forest includes everything from street trees, parks and forested open spaces to trees on private property. Provide feedback here.


City of Nooksack community survey. Deadline: Ongoing

The City of Nooksack is seeking feedback from people who live or work in Nooksack on how the city should grow over the next 20 years, as part of the city’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan update. Survey online.

Water System Plan update. Deadline: Winter 2025

The goal of a Water System Plan is to make sure the City of Bellingham understands current and future demands on the system, so it can ensure everyone has reliable access to clean, safe drinking water now and in the future. Tell them why water quality is important to you. Survey online.
