WWU men’s basketball vs. Seattle Pacific

7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8
Carver Gymnasium

Western is the hottest team in the Great Athletic Northwest Conference with six straight wins and jumping to fifth in the standings. The Vikings struggled at the beginning of the season but have been able to close games recently, including overcoming a seven-point halftime deficit against Alaska Fairbanks. Seattle Pacific is the second-hottest team in the league with four straight wins. The Falcons are one game ahead of the Vikings for third place in the conference.

Nature Time at the River in Maple Falls

12 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14
Northwest Natura Lands (Maple Falls)

If you want a relaxing trek, join naturalist Jazmen Yoder on the river and in the woods to go tracking, find mushrooms, learn the names of plants and fungi, and observe animals. Since there is no specific trail, people can wander around, socialize and observe nature up close. There is a recommended donation of $10 and advanced registration is required.
