Girls volleyball: Nooksack Valley at Lynden Christian
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26 at Lynden Christian High

Nooksack Valley and Lynden Christian meet for the first time since the Pioneers defeated the Lyncs in the 1A District 1 consolation finals for a spot at the state tournament. Since last season, both teams lost a lot of players to graduation and are trying to find their new identities at the beginning of the 2024 season.

Nooksack Valley recently won its first game of the season while Lynden Christian has a 3-1 record.

WWU women’s soccer vs. Colorado School of Mines
1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22 at Harrington Field

Despite having early issues offensively, the Vikings are 1-1-2, with a victory against No. 6 Colorado-Colorado Springs and a draw against Sonoma State. The Orediggers are 4-0 to start the season, including three shutout victories.

Bellingham Bay Marathon
6:45 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 22 at Lummi Nation School

The Bellingham Bay Marathon is a scenic race around Bellingham Bay for both runners and walkers and it could draw up to 2,500 participants. The event attracts elite athletes as well as recreational runners looking for a challenge. All proceeds from the four events benefit two Whatcom County youth nonprofit organizations.
