Bellingham boys tennis continued its tear this season by sweeping Lynden 7-0 in a Northwest Conference match at Lynden Middle School on Monday, Oct. 7.

Bayhawks top singles player Leo Kuhn won his match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Lynden’s Luke Hoffman. Bellingham’s second singles player Marcus Hinderman followed up with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Lynden’s Aaron McLendon.

Bellingham’s third singles player, Alex Powell, had the closest match of the day against Lynden’s Owen Visser. Powell snuck out with a 6-4, 6-3 victory. Bellingham’s fourth singles player Rylan Neem finished with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Lions’ Tavin Joshson.

Lynden’s top two singles players this season teamed up for the No. 1 doubles match against Bellingham. Lions’ Luke VanKooten and Kase Namminga faced Bellingham’s Nate Lyon and Caleb Imbach. The Bellingham duo won the powerful matchup 6-2, 6-1.

Bellingham’s second doubles team of Taylor Watts and Colin Mannon defeated Lynden’s Jace VanKooten and Declan Hurley 6-0, 6-2. In the final doubles match, Bellingham’s Kaiden Whitmore and Owen Bloom defeated Lynden’s Cannon Bode and Hale Van Dyk 6-2, 6-4.

The Bayhawks (11-1, 9-1 NWC) will travel to Oak Harbor for a 4 p.m. match Friday, Oct. 11. Lynden (3-6, 2-4 NWC) returns to the courts Tuesday, Oct. 8 against Sedro-Woolley.
