Billie Lauerman passed away July 17, 2024. She was born in Bellingham, October 4, 1930, to Paul Charles Smith and Marvel Alverta Wallace. She graduated from Bellingham HS in 1948. She loved seeing old High School friends and attending Class Reunions and Picnics. She attended Western for two years and then began her family. She lived in Seattle and College Station, Texas, each for several years, but came back to Bellingham in 1985.
She had a career as an Office Manager and Administrative Assistant – Much of it at Texas A&M University and some at Boeing, West Coast Airlines and elementary school front offices. In later years she and her husband were Antique dealers and collectors. She always enjoyed her work.
Billie had a wonderful and happy life. She had been in all 50 States, most of Canada and trips to Europe. She traveled to Norway and Iceland in 2017. She was always surrounded by good friends and enjoyed playing Bridge and Pinochle. She loved to go dancing, especially at Harrison Hot Springs. She considered herself very lucky because of all the wonderful, loving friends and family she had. She liked being with her family whenever she could.
She will be placed at Greenacres Memorial Park with her late husband Jerry and a marker she chose herself saying “Oh What a Wonderful Life” and it was. There will be no service per her wishes. She is survived by her two children, Teresa Lavender of Woodinville, WA.and Michael Lavender (Lisa), of College Station, Texas, 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
