Panelists including current and former Bellingham School Board members will discuss the conflict over incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion in public education. Hosted by Indivisible Bellingham.

Whatcom County candidate forum, noon Wednesday, Aug. 23, Bellingham Yacht Club, 2625 S. Harbor Loop Drive 
Bellingham City Club is accepting questions from the public for the forum, which will include candidates for county executive, sheriff and council at-large. Email info@bellinghamcityclub.org. Forum is $30 for nonmembers, or $10 with no lunch. Register online by 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20.

Board of Natural Resources Retreat, 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 – Wednesday, Aug. 23, 714 Lakeway Drive, Bellingham
The Board of Natural Resources, hosted by the state Department of Natural Resources, will participate in a retreat in the Bellingham area Tuesday and Wednesday. Participants will tour Sumas Mountain, Olsen Creek, Lake Padden, Galbraith Mountain and Blanchard Mountain during the two-day meeting.

The Bellingham Plan. Deadline: 2023

Bellingham is updating its Comprehensive Plan, the document it uses to guide growth toward a 20-year vision for the future. This update is due in 2025 and will guide development, capital investments, city programs and other actions across the city as it works toward its vision for 2045. Survey online.
