Two men died in a suspected murder-suicide in Ferndale early Monday morning.
Shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of a shooting at the 2000 block of Grandview Road, according to city communications officer Riley Sweeney.
James Hayes, 44, and Robert Beaugez, 44, were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. A witness told police Hayes kicked open the door of Beaugez’s residence and the two were involved in a short altercation.
Hayes shot Beaugez, then himself, the witness said.
Sweeney said the incident is an active homicide investigation and more details will be released as they become available.
