Pedestrian killed in crash on I-5

Male victim not yet identified

A pedestrian died Friday morning after he was struck by a car on Interstate 5 near exit 258 in Bellingham, according to Washington State Patrol.

Identification of the male victim has not yet been released.

A vehicle driven by a 68-year-old Bellingham man was heading southbound on I-5 when he drove into the right shoulder and struck the victim. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Drugs or alcohol were involved, however, the charges are still under investigation, according to WSP.
