A burglar stole a 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship ring and watch worth approximately $500 and caused $25,000 in damages to the display case in Carver Gym at Western Washington University.

University Police Sgt. Ron Carpenter estimates the burglary happened between 7:30 p.m. May 20 and 8:40 a.m. on May 21. The burglary is currently under investigation.

To access the objects, the glass panels were broken with a sharp object and bent. Western has worked to replace the glass panels and has contacted the NCAA to replace the stolen memorabilia.
