Suspect is considered armed and dangerous

Ferndale Police are searching for a homicide suspect considered armed and dangerous. 

The suspect, Miguel Angel Miranda, has an arrest warrant issued from FPD for a weekend homicide. 

Miranda, 23, was last seen driving a white 2010 Acura with Washington license plate BYD1918. The car has dark tinted windows and black wheels. Miranda’s last known residence is in Bellingham and police believe he is still in the county.

Sunday morning police responded to a shooting outside the American Legion building in Ferndale. When they arrived they found bystanders attempting life-saving aid to a shooting victim, Jose Esquivel Hernandez. 

FPD communications officer Riley Sweeney said Hernandez, 28, sustained two gunshot wounds outside of the building after being seen arguing with another man.

Hernandez, a Bellingham resident, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital. 

Because Miranda is considered armed and dangerous police advise to not approach and if he is seen to immediately call 911.
