2 dead after domestic violence incident in Burlington

The suspect was considered heavily armed

Burlington police responded to a domestic violence situation Thursday around 6:46 p.m. in the 1400 block of Victoria Avenue.

According to a press release from Cmdr. Eddie Rogge, a 911 caller reported his friend contacted him about shooting his wife and that “she was gone.” The caller also reported the friend was heavily armed.

Responding officers reported that the suspect was uncooperative after a brief interaction and that he quickly went back into the residence. Burlington police requested assistance from the crisis negotiation team and the Skagit Regional Response Team.

After several attempts to make additional contact with the suspect, law enforcement entered the residence with the “assistance of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.” They discovered a deceased male and female.

After getting a search warrant, investigators discovered numerous firearms. The Skagit County Coroner’s Office will notify next of kin.

If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, help can be reached at the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.
